| Mike's Walk on Water On June 30, to celebrate a break in the recent inclement weather or just to join on one of Mike's legendary off-track walks [Mike Pratt this time. Ed.], ten of us departed from Waterfall Station. We followed Kangaroo Creek for some way, crossed to Cridland Brook for some distance then on to Goondera Brook before walking on to Heathcote. The June rainfall for Miranda was 317mm, and we know it wasn't called Waterfall for no reason, so it was no surprise that we were treated to a smorgasbord of wonderful falls and cascades. Even the odd puddle and inundated sections of paths were a welcone change after scuffing up dust on walks for so long. Not that we saw too many paths of course, for Mike does have the tendacny to depart from tracks on the odd occasion. The off track scenery was impressive and the creek crossing or two slippery and exciting enough to concentrate the mind. All in all, it was a most enjoyable walk. Thanks Mike.
