Ku-ring-gai Chase NP: Mt Murray Anderson Nature Walk September 2017

Leader John Pickard
Story and Photos Bernie Hunt

This was a most informative walk put on by John Pickard.

Not your average hike. Being almost spring the flowers were out and the day was pleasant and John conducted a walk explaining the variety of vegetation and land formation.

Not only did he name the species of flowers we came across but why the particular plants flourish in their location.

This gave us a complete perspective of the area.

For example the native rose.

The waratahs were out.

Then there were the information sessions.

The lyrebird clearings an area used for courting.

Along the track this vegetation is not a high because of the depth of soil

Then we have the Red Spider Flower

If you would like to follow the track on a map then click on the link below and see where each of the photos were taken.
